Regnum Online

Regnum Online is a fantasy Linux  MMORPG “Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game with a Linux Client created by NGD Studios. In addition to usual character leveling like other games of this genre, Reqnum Online focuses on three realms that are in conflict  in which you take part, fighting against other players in Reqnum Online of opposing factions and capturing fortresses and castles making it very different from the usual player verses monster type of game play.

When starting out in Reqnum Online you create your character in a fantasy medieval-themed virtual world. The choice you have is to select one of the three realms or nations, Alsius, icy home of the empire of dwarves, Nordos and Utghars, Ignis the desert homeland of necromancer dark elves, humans and moloks, or Syrtis, the qiete lands where elves, half-elves and Alturians live. Once you have choosen a nation, You may create your character by choosing  race, gender, hair style and color.

After you have leveled up enough, You  go to the third level that is called the War Zone, even though a specific level is not needed to enter that area it is advised you have leveled up enough to enjoy the game. In the War Zone, you can work together with other players to form clans or parties to take over enemy forts and castles or to simply hunt down targets.

Regnum Online currently has over 400,000 free  subscriptions with a friendly, helpful game community in its forums. If you wish to play alone there are over 100 different quests in Reqnum Online for you to choose from. I had fun playing the game this weekend and I do recommend it. From what I understand Reqnum online just got a new game engine making this MMORPG for Linux a big hit so if you played Reqnum Online in the past I would fully recommend trying it again.
